This is the new R1200R.
Note the new location for the oil cooler.
Reports on the Net indicate that this bike is available with stability control
as an option.
The ABS system is linked to a computer that will override throttle and ignition
setting when wheel speeds do not match. This seems similar to the traction
control used on MOTO GP race bikes.
From looking at other pictures on the net, the footpegs, shifter and brake pedal
appear to be the same as on the R1200ST.
This bike may simply be a repackaged ST.
At least the rear sub frame appears to be the same.
We are working on a footpeg kit using an ST. The kit should fit both models.
R1200ST
owners looking for bar backs, may find a solution using parts from the
R1200R.
On the R1200R, the triple clamp is of the non tilting type. By fitting the "R"
triple clamp and fork top pivot joints to an ST, any number of tubular
handlebars could then be mounted. We will check this out when the "R" is
available.
